Am a dual customer with b/g so emailed them about the free insulation ,was intrested in the cavity wall insulation ,got a phone call today 2 days after i emailed them and was asked sevral questions are you over 70 ? no , do you own home ? yes , anybody claim benefits ? no , how old is your house ? 1995 -1997 was my reply , does it have any vents outside ? yes . The reply by the b/g phone operator was your house must already have the cavity wall insulated due to the vents outside and the age of it , my reply was no it hasn't as i have had 2 previous surveys done on the property over the years ,after a few words with her manager he said that was the policy if had vents it was taken that the property already had the wall cavity insulation already done . As disapointed as i was after apoligies by the b/g phone operator going against my word of saying it had already been done i hung up on her . Felt very let down by british gas for the way they didn,t want to give me the free insulation , i told her had 2 surveys done b4 and houses over the road same age as mine have had it done . WHAT A CON I SAY .
