They didn't ask you to bring just photocopies though did they?

Employers always need original documents & checking that original document against a copy & keeping the copy would be fine.

I guess they didn't have a copier or it was broke & someone got confused passing the message on.

Hardly anything to complain about if you do want to work there.

They didn't even tell me to bring copies, just my originals.

My problem is that the lady wouldn't even let me use a local shop to photocopy my documents.

Will still be complaining as I spent money to get there(which I hardly have), and they wouldn't even give me an interview because of some stupid reason which even isn't valid.

I assume you've already decided you don't want another stab at applying for the job? Making a complaint will probably scupper your chances if you were still interested. How much did you spend getting there?

I get all that but there is no point making a big deal out of it.

You will be complaining about the people who deal with the decisions on who gets a job.

    Not clever.

If you want to do it do it after you get a job there.

It won't scupper my chances as I'm not even going to work at that particular store?

I have an interview lined up for a job at another store next week.

I spent about £10 getting there

I'm not making a big deal of it, it is just that they wouldn't even grant me an interview and I had spent time and money get there.

Perhaps 'complain' is the wrong way of putting it, but I would write to the store manager or the HR department and give them your feedback on the recruitment process.

You don't have to be uppity or indignant about it, but just emphasise how disappointed you were at not being given the opportunity to attend the interview as you had travelled some distance to be there.

Leaving aside the mis-communication about whether you needed to bring photocopies or not, having arrived without them I don't see why the interviewer couldn't have checked your originals and gone ahead with the interview on the basis that you would get photocopies done afterwards.
