in Credit cards
Hi
Yesterday Aqua sent me a letter reducing my credit limit. I have never missed a payment, I have never gone over my limit and in fact they increased my limit last August. When I rang them they told that they had info from credit agency called Core. I have searched the internet and can find them. can any one shed some light on them or Aqua.

Are you sure it was "Core" and not "Call" as in "CallCredit"?
There are, to my knowledge, only three CRAs in the UK: Experian, Equifax and CallCredit. My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.
They are not a substitute for professional financial advice - but you knew that already didn't you?

Aqua only use Experian and Call Call Credit. Never heard of 'Core'.
Despite not missing payments on this account, have you missed anything on any others recently? Or taken out a large new loan, credit card or finance - they may think you are over exposed and want to keep things in check. Either way, they have done this because they sense an increased risk. They will only get this from how you use your account, i.e. always paying minimum payments, or always close to the limit or from information from Experian / Call Credit.0 -
Hi, Thanks for the feed back.
First I got the call centre guy to spell the name and it is core, secondly I have never missed a payment on any of my cards. I have in fact cleared and canceled two cards in the last year and paid off a personal loan.I have not appllied for any loans or cards in the last six months. In fact, three of my credit cards have had their credit limited increased, not by a great amount. So I don't think it is that.
I am worried incase it has an effect on my other credit as I am trying to build my credit up.0 -
It may be that as your other cards have had their limits increased, Aqua don't feel you'd be able to handle being in debt to your new total credit limits along with your increased Aqua limit, so the reduced it to a figure they feel confident you could afford should you max out the new limits on your other cards.
Very common, nothing personal
