Hi
Move into property 28/8/2010

28/8/2010 reading 1511
20/9/2010 reading 1520
27/10/2010 reading 1630
26/1/2011 reading 2132
31/1/2011 reading 2160

Could someone calculate how much in KWA British Gas are stateing 7800KWA.
For six days we used 16 metric units =178.54 call out British Gas new valve fitted, checked meter readings for 24 hours 9 unuits and we have cut down a lot to try and find out what the problem is. For one month on there estimate they are 12 working days over on there calander dates. And they have got be down as flat 16a on paper but on the internet flat 16, is it me or is something wrong.

We dont use our boiler much

Best Regards

Neil

I presume this is gas, correct?
Does the meter say M3 (metric) or Ft3 (imperial) on it?

    Hi
Yes its a m3 meter, but we have cut down so much but the bills over 1-3 days is way to high and on my account online it gives our neighbours address and ours, British Gas say its just a computer error.
When we moved into the flat the last people left a debt at this address for their Gas (British Gas).
On my account online with British Gas i have all the meter readings going back to 2007 for this address and not one meter reading matches our's, all around 2456KWA or much less in the summer, our meter reading for 3 months, 7000KWA, this should be for six months not 3 months. For the first 3 months when we moved in the meter gave normal readings.

If someone leaves a debt with there gas supplier does the meter play catch up, even the guy at B.G said this is way to high, and he was been very sheepish, so this is when i registered online to find out this account is using two address in this block of 2 flats.

    Whould this worry you.

    Best Regards

Go here http://www.energylinx.co.uk/gas_meter_conversion.html and input the difference between each pair of readings i.e. 1520 - 1511 = 9 = 102kw. Overall you have used 7374. Obviously the bill may use a slightly different calorific value.

If you moved in on 28/8/10 you should not be able to see info on the meter point before that date so how are you seeing readings back to 2007.

Hi niel277 - Check that the meter number listed on your bills matches that on your meter, and if it does not, look at the neighbors meter to see if it matches that

    Hi
Everything matches to our flat except my online account gives two different addresses, there's and our' s which is very strange, British Gas are looking into it!
We have cut down a very good 80%, still meter reading are too high, when i first moved into the flat i set up DD with Thames Water = fine payments taken, TV License = payment fine, Council Tax = fine.

Then when i set up DD with British Gas it was declined twice by my bank, this would only happen if they registered my card at our neighbors address., so i made payment over the telephone and it went into some other person account, they did correct this.

At the moment we are keeping the gas as low as possible, even the man who came to repair the valve said your bills are way to high, his wife has her gas on all day and night, his bills were lower than ours.

British Gas said two properties are not the same, well a boiler burning all day will use energy. Our flat at the moment is cold due toi this problem. I think British Gas has a major problem to sort out my name at two address for two different properties, there reply was error, don't worry about this, but the bill has to be paid, they will try to wriggle out of this one way or another, i have saved all copies as evidence.

    Thanks

    Neil
