Hi, you wonderful people
Returned from shopping at Farm Foods in Wrekenton not long ago. The car park of this particular outlet from the frozen foods chain is 'managed' by Parking Eye.
On return to my car I noticed another driver being severly upset about having been issued with ticket by this PPC. So I found it my duty towards this poor man to walk over and fill him in about the PPC's I have learned here and on pepipoo.
I walked him to the companies which reads something like: 1 1/2 maximum stay, otherwise a fine of £70 will be issued. Thing was though, that this dear elderly man didn't even overstay this maximum time, in fact he was in and out within about 20 minutes, just like me.
There are no cameras (at least I couldn't see any), so I think this Parking eye fairies just pop along every now and then and dish out tickets like I receive flyers for Pizza taxis a couple of times during the day.
Anyway...as I was busy to explain to the dear man the rights he has (ignore it, NEVER get in touch with them, definately NEVER pay them...no penalty charge, but a contract..bladibla) out of the woods this Sasquatch turns up and yells vile abuse at me (too strong for it to get posted here) then threatens me with:' (two words)! Or I do your ******* head in!
I left the victim my telephone number and urged him to get in touch with me tomorrow. If he does I point him towards this forum and pepipoo.
In any case...I'm shocked and astonished regarding the behaviour and conduct of this PPC Parking Eye Guy, but I'm sure that this can be classed as proof that they know that they're in the wrong?

Report it to the police.0

Will do and hope the victim of their scam calls me tomorrow so I have a witness.
And formally report it as a complaint to the Store manager at Farm Foods and any other retailers on site. Make it clear you know that the perpetrator was an agent of theirs (their PPC, their problem).
It is complaints to retailers that is most likely to get PPCs kicked out of car parks. Even if between us all on this forum we complained to our local retailers a few times this year (in the names of relatives, real surnames but different complaints...) and get just a few contracts stopped that would be amazing!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I have taken advicde from the cops, they said 'given evidence I could press charges against the Sasquatch, as just him using swear words would be enough for an arrest. I will DEFINATELY keep on the case! The store manager is my next point of engagement tomorrow!0 -

Nice to see the Police taking this seriously ..they should !
THE LAW says :-
Public Order Act 1986 s.4
1) A person is guilty of an offence if he -
a) uses towards another person threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, or
b) distributes or displays to another person any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening, abusive or insulting,
with intent to cause that person to believe that immediate unlawful violence will be used against him or another by any person, or to provoke the immediate use of unlawful violence by that person or another, or whereby that person is likely to believe that such violence will be used or it is likely that such violence will be provoked.
2) An offence under this section may be committed in a public or a private place, except that no offence is committed where the words or behaviour are used, or the writing, sign or other visible representation is distributed or displayed, by a person inside a dwelling and the other person is also inside that dwelling."
NB the point about a private place just because you are on private land does not allow this behaviour.0 -

The Co-op across the street 'alegedly' operates a P&D facilty, but without any machine to buy any from...one can park there to there lives content. Apart from that, there is signage for any traffic to turn left, but if any oblige with rule one they'd soon run into another problem 'Entrance only for buses or taxis, only to find yet another sign that says 'No U-turns!' LOL.
At some stage they must have bought too many signs and sent some fairries out to place them lol0 -

They are taking my complaint very seriously indeed and will observe this particular carpark and the goings-on. However, what amazed my most was that the Sasquatch only bullied and screamed and shouted, but I remained calm and mananged to tell him to go back into the forest.
It seriously amazed me that I with the little bit of knowledge I have obtained in here and in pepipoo to kind of make them run and at their last line of defence make them throw such a wobbly that they are on the edge of breaching some public order law.
It makes me proud of you all who taught me how to handle them in such a short space of time. I'm no longer frightened! Thanks to here and an pepipoo0 -
Good for you Pearly11, after reading your other posts I am sure you wont let this go just yet:p
Most of these parasites pay an amount of the charge back to the retailer, or pay the retailer for the privilege of ripping people off! I would assume that the PPC then pays the person issuing the tickets a commission on the ones that get paid. This can be their only excuse for dishing out abuse, as if he wasn't paid per invoice why would he be concerned.
However it has come to my notice how many of these charges are placed on older peoples cars. As you said the man was only in there for 20 mins yet gets a invoice! I would love to see the stats on who actually pays these invoices without question. However without seeing them I would place a substantial wager it being the older generation.
It would not surprise me if these lowlife PPC's are instructing their invoice issuers to look out for these specific types knowing they have a better then average chance of receiving their bounty!
I would also surmise that the fact they haven't actually even broken one of their own silly rules will bother them. They will just hope the person does not question the charge.
Parking spy seem to pop up regularly with this sort of issue. very keen on over stayers or presumed over stayers luckily they are one of the easiest to ignore!
God knows why these supermarkets get involved, the managers on the ground must be sick of dealing with disgruntled customers! It seems it looked a good idea to some goon sitting in head office, however its the local managers who have to deal with it. As C-M says we need to complain and as well as advising people to ignore the maggots, also advise them to complain to the store manager. It worked on Elk park Oldham were UKCPS were booted out for aggressive invoicing so it can work.
I have a few hours spare today I think I will be firing off a few emails to some retailers. Luckily we only really have two retail parks here who use a PPC, but I dont need to say were I am from on an email do I.:p0 -
You have posted exactly what I think, esmerobbo, it would make complete sense for them to primarily target what is widely known as the more vulnerable members of our society. The dear man yesterday actually believed that he was served a ticket from some department of the local authority. I really would like to see some statistics on that issue. Out of interest: Are the PPC's under any obligation to disclose this sort of info? They seem to have very...lets say....'shady'?....businesses. Since my problem with my son's PCN my eyes automatically seem to zoom in on car parking signs and I didn't find a single one from a PPC so far, which displays their actual 'land-address'. All of them had just a PO Box address. I wonder why the government does not intervene with this type of 'wishy washy companies' if they do it with others. Something here just isn't quite round and if something in my world just isn't quite round I get a bit edgy
. The experience from yesterday evening has NOT had the desired effect the PPC guy may have in mind, as I will make it my job to advise people who receive these type of tickets whenever I in the future I happen to come across them. 0 -
Another PPC that seems to target elderly and disabled drivers is UKCPS. Their company spokesman (Peter Haswell) as even logged onto forums boasting about taking a disabled driver to court and winning in spite of that driver being too ill to attend the court hearing. And this, remember is a PPC that has teemed up with Mobilise, a disabled driver's charity. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
