Hi , Since the birth of my daughter back in 2002 my husband and i put in our claim for ctc / wftc as everyone did. We started recieving payments , then as my hrs of works increased and salary to reflect , childcare costs etc... we found ourselves regularly contacting tax credits to update them with new information this by either letter or phone . some letters we have copies. My husband then starting having promotions at his workplace and again we would contact tax credits . Payments were increased , decreased , stopped and eventually we were told we owed them over 3k ???? i appealled against this and to do date they are still adament that the overpayment has to be paid back . After digging out the piles of amendment tax credit awards and final decsions etc i found few copy letters which i had sent previously updating them of changes . We made many phone calls but at the time did not feel the need to note each one down .... and boy we were wrong not to !!! i recently forwarded them copies of corespondence that i had sent over the yrs and stated that i did not feel they had met their responsibilities to accurately record and use the information we provided , they have recently replied to say that we have not met our responsibilties to check our award notices to see if the payments were correct !!! i am at my wits ends with it all and have no idea where to go next with it ?????? Any advice is gratefully recieved !!!
Thanks Guys !!!!
