The Government campaign is launching a competition inviting all primary and secondary schools to set themselves a healthy challenge to be completed over four weeks. Inspired by the SmallSteps4Life principles of ‘Eating Well’, ‘Getting Active’ and ‘Feeling Good’, the challenges need to be imaginative, original and effective. They can be anything – as long as they get pupils trying healthy activities! The winning challenges from both a primary AND a secondary school will win a visit from one of the two mascots.
Examples of challenges could be walking 1,000 steps each lunch break,
eating more fruit or even trying something new – like dance or a new veg - each day! Inspiration and all the information about the competition can be found on the SmallSteps4Life website at: http://smallsteps4life.direct.gov.uk
The deadline to complete the competition is Thursday 31st March 2011, winners will be announced in April 2011 and the winning Primary & Secondary School will get a visit from one of the London 2012 Mascots in May/June 2011.
