Help - I don't know anything about Tax Credits...

Hi - I'm hoping someone could advise me.

I am lost with how they work the ctc and wtc out and everytime I use entitled to or direct.gov I get different amounts.

I am currently employed at the moment but I am going to hand my notice in soon due to being bullied and management not doing anything to help me. I am desperately searching for work but not finding anything and have to seriously consider that I may temporarily have to rely on benefits. I don't want to claim JSA as I have anxiety issues and attending the jobcentre is not something I want to do at the moment.

My husband works and earns just under £19000 gross a year. Can anyone help? Would I be entitled to more tax credits?

Thankyou for any help.

If you stop work now you'll definitely get more tax credits next year (assuming you don't get a new job), whether you get more this year depends on total joint income this tax year.

That seems crazy because I would need it now not next year! Thanks for your swift response though.

I'm talking tax years - so from April you'll get more if you quit your job now - only a couple of months away. You may have to ring them and tell them your expected income after you fill in the annual declaration next year.
