car insurance companies that only look back 3yrs

was speaking with bmw insurance today and lady asked about any accident claims made in the past 3 years. That took me by surprise as they normally ask 5yr history.

my accident was in Sep07 which falls outside of the 3yrs.

BMW's quote was still too high but got me thinking, are there any other companies that only look back as far as 3yrs in terms of accident history?

I think more or less all the RBS owned insurers - Churchill, Direct Line, Privilege etc - work on 3yrs claims history. They underwrite BMW insurance which explains their stance - wicky.

IIRC Saga also work on 3yrs if you are elligible.

Esure, Sainsbury's Bank, & Sheilas' Wheels also only ask claims & accidents in the last 3yrs :)
  • There's several insurers that run off of things like a single claim in the past 5 years, but multiple claims in the past 3. Also, it can make a difference if you were at fault or not as some will see it in the past 3 years but ignore it if it was a non-fault claim.

Churchill, Direct Line, Privilege > all seem to have exactly the same site and none of them would return a quote with the details i provided.

admiral - asking for a pwd to retrieve a quote (Which i dont have)

esure - dont like the fact i dont have NCB
sainsbury's - powered by esure so same thing
sheila's wheels - looks like powered by esure as well

    saga - dont qualify

I do have 3 years claims free as 2nd driver but cant input that in any of the above. i wonder if it's worth calling around and see if any of these are willing to take into account 3yrs claims free...?

else im stuck like many of us paying extornionate amounts...

    thanks guys
