Dont think there is much i can do but thought i would ask you knowledgable bunch in case.
In october i sold some yankee candles and holders on ebay. They sold for £20.50 and i posted them off which cost £7.50. I did not send recorded (big mistake) Anyway after a week i started getting messages from the buyer saying they hadnt recieved the items. They were very friendly and as it was during the postal problems they were happy to wait. After about 16 days they asked for a refund which i gave them-fair enough. I said i would try to claim from RM and they sent me a nice message thanking me for the refund and saying if i needed any help with my claim let them know.
Anyway i put in a claim and it took for ever. Last week i got a letter from them saying they had written to the buyer who had not replied and therefore they assumed they have now recieved the item and the matter is now closed. I have tried to contact the buyer and have had no response. I know they are still active on ebay as they have left feedback for things they have bought after i have sent them messages.
Sorry for rambling but is there anything i can do? I am now £28 out of pocket and dont have the items either. I have been polite in all my emails but am so annoyed.

Hi Mickeymad i had this problem before christmas. I called Royal mail and told them that the buyer was unresponsive and what should i do next. They said they understood and proceeded with the refund- i got the cheque 2 days later.
I dont know if i just got lucky but i would give them a call and see what they say.0 -
This has always struck me as odd, we report a lost item to RM and if they do a random check and don't get a response they don't assume it is an issue with the post they assume the buyer doesn't want to confirm that the item didn't arrive.
I would be tackling the RM on this.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Keep trying the number, start very early in the morning and it will get answered by a real person.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Finally got a response off the buyer who said they had replied to the rm inbetween xmas and new year saying they had not recieved the parcel. RM says they never replied? Also hubby managed to speak to rm yesterday (i just get a recorded message) who said it was still being investigated. But i have a letter to say the matter is finished.
Am i being fobbed off?0 -
