Can I make a claim for housing benefit after I've given my months notice?

If I handed in my months notice on my flat tenancy to move back to my parents, then lost my job, could I make a claim for just those 1-4 weeks on that flat whilst I was still living there?

yes you can make a claim as long as you are liable for rent and you are still living in the property

Thanks..well my rent is paid in advance for the month but I'm guessing that wouldn't make a difference, as that's how all rent is paid?
