Has anyone had a similar experience to me with these muppets. I ordered a card as I'm abroad for the best part of a year and the benefits sound good, 0% balance transfer, 0% on foreign purchases etc. Yes I thought.
I paid off my card today and so I feel that I can let my hair down and tell you how crap they really are.
I received the card. It took 3 months for them to activate the online service correctly. I received so many pin numbers, activation numbers and personal numbers that my recycling over spilled. When they finally got to the bottom of the problem there was a "technical fault" and it took another month for the website to actually work.
Now I'm away, I've been fined a late payment as I have no direct debit set up. I set one up when I applied, they send you no documentation of this, I set one up online, the customer service team have set them up for me on a few occasions but still I do not have one not set up. When I call to try and pay off my card in full the customer service team are "unable to do this, I can only accept minimum payment over the phone". They are worse than useless.
I have been an Alliance and Leicester customer for a number of years, they offered a great current account and good online banking but I'm leaving as Santander have really let me down. Don;t get one, it is not worth your time or energy.

Have had similar experiences with Santander. Took passport into branch to verify who I am, then received 6 (yes 6) verification passwords, when I tried to use them they all were blocked. I then called them, but they insisted that I needed to take my passport into the branch. When I said I had, thats why I has received the verification codes, they insisted that I hadn't! No statements were recieved for the first two months, but a late payment bill was! Have until June on the 0% offer. This bill is top of the "get rid of" list I have. Steer clear people.0

I guess you've been somewhat unlucky.
My Santander Zero arrived within a matter of days, along with pins, passwords, etc... Phoned up to activate - no problems there and BT'd £1400 over at the same time - again, no problems. Setup DD for minimum payment and that too went through without issue.
Doesn't help you I know - but just wanted to give the other side to the story. I'm a fairly happy Santander customer - just wish they'd give me a damned OD - just "incase" - not to use...My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.
They are not a substitute for professional financial advice - but you knew that already didn't you?

Can't say I have had any problems with the santander (Abbey) credit card I have. The reason for that may be though that I have never contacted there customer services or have an online account set up. There's a lot to be said for the "old school" cheque and post or a decent online banking system!0

Yep, I havent bee able to access my Zero credit card online for over a year now. They cant fix it, They dont know why it wont work, Ive given up. I use my card now once a month to top up my oyster card, and thats it, just pay it off as soon as the bill comes on my online banking.
They are useless :rotfl:Debt free and staying that way! :beer:0 -

Really?? There's been a few complaints on here from people who had their cheques delayed in the post because of the Christmas demand coupled with the poor weather conditions. My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.

No problems with getting cheques through Dec or Jan on any of my credit cards, always there before due date. Have direct debit anyway cheque's are just for overpayment.0
