Barclaycard and misdeclared income

Hullo,

I recently applied for a Barclaycard, and got a letter back asking for proof of income.

When I spoke to my financial adviser today, he told me the way I'd expressed my income was a big no-no; essentially I wrote down what I'd need to earn as PAYE salary to get the same take-home as I currently get, and I conflated my personal salary with what I bill through my company (which would normally be ok, but I'm saving for a tax bill in the company account). Compounding this, I can only prove what I earned /last/ year, which is about 70% of what I'm billing this year!

Mistake made, clearly. Is it worth writing to Barclaycard with an explanation of this, and with my income records from last year (which probably still qualify me)? Or would it be better to just let it slide? I'm worried it my negatively affect my credit to let it slide.

-P
