Can my gf get a replacement birth certificate without paying?

Mrsbritishboy recently moved in and has mislaid her birth certificate, and we now need it, along with her 2 boys ones to apply for passports, been told they are £15 each, but wondered if theres a way of getting them without paying?

Thanks in advance

Sorry, in a word, no :(
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.
  • You have to pay. Depends on what cert you want as to what you pay. My sister only had a short BC and needed a full one for a passport...she had to pay.

You could have aother search annd see if they are hidden in a box or drawer somewhere.

No, you have to pay but it's £9.25 each, not £15.

You can order from here https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ or apply at the registry office where the births were registered. If that's local, it will be quicker.

Most register offices only charge about £9 for a copy certificate. Ring the one where they were born.
