lol I'm afraid I have to agree with others on here. Its 13p! If you really want it that badly just go into your local branch and a cashier will prob give it to you to get rid of you! they have plenty of coins in slush funds where the tills have been over some nights ;)

You never know they may have to order it in via Securicor!! :rotfl::rotfl:
    Best Regards

They haven't kept 13p off 10,000 customers, so why are you making this point? It's not about the sum of £1300 but about 13p. Don't try to make it seem like a wider issue, because it's not. It's an isolated case affecting just you, and I'm amazed you actually took the time to embarrass yourself about it in this forum. At least it's the funniest post in here for a while. Perhaps it's all a joke?

My first ever job in a building society was processing mortgage redemptions (final payment on a mortgage).

It was standard practice that any overpayment or underpayment of less than a certain amount (a fiver rings a bell, but it may have been less) would be written off. It works both ways. The lender gains on some and loses on others.

The most frustrating thing was solicitors acting in house sales taking 2-3 weeks to settle the mortgage. This would cost the lender £hundreds in lost interest on every case. Typically the branch I worked in was losing more than £1,300 a week. In the great scheme of things, your 13p doesn't matter. It isn't important. Sorry.
I know this may seem petty
Very. I have 13p loose change in my pocket. I walk past a charity shop on my lunch break. I will make a donation on your behalf. Then you can let it go.

You might believe it to be a mutual, but the management don't give a toss for the "owners".

Yes, sadly it seems that way. Perhaps they will just float, give me a couple of k as a bribe which i will accept, then I will transfer all funds elsewhere.

Are all the snarky comments necessary, folks?

Without putting words into the OP's mouth, it seems that the issue here is not the amount of money, which we all agree is small, but the laughter and it's only a few pence attitude from a financial institution. It may only be a few pence, but it's not theirs to decide that. As bank staff i'm pretty surprised myself to be honest, i'm used to every penny being accounted for.

We once received a letter from a customer, dated 25/12 making a claim for an interest charge he felt was unfair, he had overpqid by 1 penny. He was treated like anyone else, and we loomed into it, and refunded his penny.

In conclusion, lets be a bit more polite to friend OP.

Santander issued me with a cheque for 1p when I closed my accounts even though I told them I didn't want it.
Haven't got round to paying it in yet!

They sent my OH one for 7p when they were Alliance and Leicester. Much to my disappointment she refused to cash it and insisted on keeping it for some reason. We were sure they didn't owe her it as well...
