EDF energy?

Moving in to our new house friday so we'll need to sort out our Gas & Electric! I notice EDF haven't put their prices up so I guess it's probably best to go through them?! As I don't know how much we'll be using it hard to gauge which the best deal is! So what would you recommend a deal with a fixed term perhaps or something else?!

By the time you've opened an account with the current suppliers of the property and then applied to change suppliers, EDF will have announced their new prices (due in March) so you can make a proper assessment then. Use a comparison site and get it to guess your useage as you won't know it and see what it suggests.0

You are correct that EDF have not incresaed their prices ... YET!
As they only said they would hold them until end of this month, and it'll take 4 weeks to switch supplier at least, not sure why you think they are the supplier to go with.
First of all you need to register with the existing supplier(s).
If you want to consider switching, use a comparison site. Most offer a service for people who do not know what their annual consumption is likely to be, so they base it on estimations ... which may be widely inaccurate.
Words 'frying pan' and 'fire' come to my mind ..."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Problem is they're asking for a current supplier & what my annual bills are?! I don't have a current supplier though nor do I have any annual bills? This is why it's so tough to gauge0

On Friday, you need to contact the supplier(s) that currently supplies the property. They will then be your current supplier. You cannot switch supplier until you have a supplier
As I said, most comparison sites have a facility to help you if you do not know what your consumption is ... but it's a guess."Now to trolling as a concept. .... I see, so I'll need to find out the supplier that's currently on the property & go from there? Will I also get an annual usage? Could I say that as there was 3 people living there our usage should be approx 2/3rds of our own as we're just a couple?! Is that one way of working it out?0

You don't need a current supplier. Just put in something like BG standard dual fuel or whatever. It will still produce the comparative tariff figures. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
No, because you will still heat/light/power the property almost as much for two as for three. It's not that simple. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
