I would love a Border terrier ... it seems that very few of them end up in rescues because they are just so WONDERFUL ...0

Keep an eye on the rescue pages like dogsblog and dogpagesforum. There is also border terrier rescue. dogsblog have a 6 week old puppy which may be full or half border (mum was a stray border) And a couple of dear little border crosses on there too.

We have 2 Borders......wouldn't be without them. It was my DD1 who desperately wanted one; it wasn't a breed I had considered previously but I'm so glad she persuaded me. We initially got one and then 10 months later got the second; we now have an 'arranged marriage' and are waiting to see what happens (our girly is in season atm)
Both do the frog sprawly out thing, both bark with toys in their mouths and the boy talks! Most amusing, loyal to the nth degree and I love them to bits.0 -
I guess I did a bit of "cosmic ordering" cos when I went to the local dog pound they had a border terrier cross needing a home. He is ADORABLE ... about a year old, loves all dogs and people, absolutely no recall so cant let him off the lead yet, affectionate on his own terms (will sit beside me but moves away if I try to hug him). I have called him Alfie0

How lovely. Our rescue boy has 100% recall - get yourself a little pack of training treats - I scream "sweetie?" when I want the boys to come and they rush back to get a treat - but after a while they come anyway, treat or not
Good luck with him.
