I remember mum doing that with my brother! She also used to put crushed rusk in his bedtime bottle from an extremely early age:eek:
  • My DD was exactly the same (although DS had always loved his bottle) so I was a bit perplexed. I decided to start to wean her at 11 weeks with tiny bits of baby rice, fruit puree etc and she absolutely loved it. She really enjoyed every spoonful. I still gave her milk too and she continued to drink just as much as she wanted before losing interest.
My daughter is 11 now and my son 13, both are strong and healthy. DD loves a wide variety of food, will eat anything but NEVER drinks milk (but has it on cereal). My son has plainer tastes, prefers only plain food, doesn't like to try new things, hates cooking smells of spicy food etc.
I think what I'm trying to say is that all babies are different and have different tastes. Your little treasure is probably going to find other foods much more interesting than boring old milk!
    Don't worry I'm sure she'll thrive either way x
  • If she's gaining weight the health visitor wont do much! I had major problems with both of mine due to reflux (and milk allergies). My daughter had/has reflux below the valve - ie: no vomiting and she DID starve herself! If you are convinced its reflux ask the GP to let you trial some baby Gaviscon for a week or so and see if she improves her feeds! If not, then its something else - if yes then great!!

If there's still a problem GP can escalate to Ranitidine (but from experience they only do that when its severely affecting weight gain and feeding).

Cant hurt to ask GP though!

    HTH!
