Checking our security after intruder in the garden.

  • I was in the kitchen the other week and suddenly spotted someone walking up my garden path from the back lane. There was no way he could've known I was in when he entered the garden. he spotted me and came to the back door asking if we had any scrap metal to get rid of, or wanted any of the 'rubbish' in our garden clearing out. He included my car in this  I told him to get lost.

I wonder what he would've taken had I not been in and spotted him.

I called the local police, and they thanked me for letting them know, and said that they would keep an eye out, and see if there were any more reports from the area.

We've increased the security from the back lane too now.

I would say, do what you have to do to feel safe in your house and garden, and if you are concerned let the local police know. They can then see if anyone else in the area has reported similar things. Maybe speak to your immediate neighbours and see if they've noticed anything strange.
If having different experiences, thoughts and ideas to you, or having an opinion that you don't understand, makes me a troll, then I am proud to be a 100% crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living Troll. :hello:
  • we had some vermin looking round our car and my van at 4:00am the other week! Banging on the door and shouting at them made them run like hell! lol

all i would suggest is some good pir security lights (no thief likes bright lights) a good house alarm fitted by a qualifed engineer, (burgalurs wont bother a house with an alarm 90% of the time) and make sure you have some snap free lock barrels in your upvc house doors. As my grandma could break in any door with the normal euro cylinder lock barrels. And like someone said in a previous post contact your local neibourgh hood watch there always happy to help.
