Cold Call - Suspected scam

Just had an “International” call on my landline, “I am calling about the computer” and have I noticed how slow it is, are you online now?
It sounded like she was calling from an internet cafe and had an African accent.
I was going to string them along a bit, but lost my temper.

It's a well known scam, just hang up if you're busy or string them along if you want a bit of fun.

They'll either try to get you to install spyware/remote access software/other malicious software, or 'fix' your computer for you and then demand payment, or both.

I quite want one of these calls just to see how much fun I can have with them

Me too :( Feeling very left out. How come they never call me?

  • My friend had one of these and nearly got caught out.
I'd love to get one of these, I'd go right out of my way to wind them up.
