Hi
Just sold an item, customer payed with echeque. I only accept paypal so this is a pain, I emailed her and she said she was meant to pay by paypal and didn't want to pay by echeque either, but as she was doing it on her phone she couldn't cancel the cheque.
Can I cancel the echeque or do i have to refund? If i refund will the funds come out my acc originally and then be topped up once the echeque clears? If thats the case i'll let her echeque clear incase I get duped.
thanks

No, you have to accept it. You can't refuse Paypal and an eCheque is a method of paying by Paypal. You can advise it will take a while to clear and would she possibly wait for the item until it does, but you can't insist she pays another way.
She doesn't choose whether or not she pays by eCheque; it's a method Paypal use when there are issues with an account (such as no card or an expired card attached to an account) and there's no way she could just cancel and repay - she might find the same problem happens again."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

Personally I would let it run its course. I've had quite a few and it's just a matter of waiting a few days, never had a problem. It's just a PP payment with a slight delay.0

If you refund the e-cheque and she updates her card details before re-paying it should clear immediately.0
