What pans cope best with dry frying?

I have some of the better quality Tefal pans & they're great for dry-frying
but the one I get the best results from is a well-seasoned plain cast iron pan that I've had for 30-odd years, it doesn't have any fancy coatings & just needs rinsing & wiping after use
I had a well meaning friend who brillo-ed it thinking they were helping! they were almost an ex friend :mad:0 -
We have recently got a couple of the red spot tefal pans and they are excellent.0

I have the tefal red spot ones too - never had a problem with them.GC 2023 June £72/500 NSDs 1/100

I've had Tefal hot-spots before and they're great for a while but they do start to stick after a couple of years.
I've now got a Prestige Insignia non-stick frypan and I love it, nothing ever sticks when dry frying, "fried" eggs with no oil are lovely and the added benefit is it also goes in the oven.

The Lakeland Stoneline frying pans are brilliant. They cost more to start with but last for ever.0

^This.. I've been married 6 years and have 2 sets of tefal frying pans.. I found they started to stick and then the coating started to come off... Am hoping my new pilot ones last a bit longer..
Would love to know if anyone has had tefal pans that lasted longer than this? Wondering if I didn't look after them properly etc..0 -
I had Tefal red spot pans too but the non-stick properties seemed to disappear with use. What I do now which seems odd (and might well not be terribly good for us) is to use that liner stuff - it's called Bake-O-Glide, and Lakeland also sell their own version. You cut a circle to fit your pan and cook directly on that with no fat or anything. It seems as if it wouldn't work, but it does, and when it gets all manky after a while you just cut a new bit. It does slide about a bit in the pan but it works and washes very easily.0

I use a cast iron frying pan that has no non stick on it- just been seasoned for 20 years- rarely sticks unless I really burn something- even then that is not a problem as I can scrape it with metal tools to get it clean again. It is without a doubt the best pan I have ever bought.0
