I would ring Boots customer care they are always helpfull, most people think Boots are trustworthy and im sure they wont want there name tarnished by this other company thats running the appliance division.

Hi Pink, Sorry you've had such trouble, but I'm not surprised. Bought a fridge freezer for my Mum from them. Similar scenario. Then tried for a fitted double oven. Same thing. They are absolute !!!!!!, & their customer service is abominable too. Try Sainsbury, they were very good, delivered on time, unwrapped the items for checking, & made sure all ok before they left.

:rotfl: They are the same company , Boots and Sainsburys just take a cut of the sale to use there name on the websites ;)
• Thanks to all for the advice and shared experiences, Isnt' it amazing how many people are saying the same thing about this company!!.

Well here's the next part of my story... After trawling through their site to try and find a different model of dishwasher, as the one I had originally ordered was no longer available  , I picked a choice of 2 both at least £60 more expensive... called and without hesitaiton they said they would pick up the difference no problem. They phoned me back after checking stock and delivery and the earliest they can deliver anything is the 23rd Nov!! I have agreed to let them attempt to deliver then but I am not taking bets as to whether it will arrive and NOT be damaged either.

On thursday I received a HUGE bouquet of flowers through interflora "With sincere apoligies from BOOTS KITCHEN APLLIANCES"

My husband says in his opinion to have waited all this time, received the discounts/free upgrade and get flowers almost makes all the hassle worthwhile... but I don't and the BIG thing for me is that we still don't have a dishwasher :confused::confused:

I am so tempted to call them today and everyday this week to make certain it will actually arrive.. :undecided

I won't actually be here on thursday as I am going into hospital for a wee op but I know I will be wondering what's going on??

I will post back on here as soon as I can to let you all know "The continueing adventures of the dishwasher that couldn't arrive!!"

glad that they have agreed to upgrade your dihwasher model and cover the cost difference. The flowers were a ncie gesture - but i suspect too loittle too late to make you use them again!!!

Fingers crossed for the 23rd November! :D

r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!
I can't promise that all my replies will illicit this response :p
• I think you've summed it up quite nicely there.. yeah, a really nice gesture to send flowers and I do think the staff at the Cs department are genuinley sorry and I suppose they are limited to what they can do, as the problem seems to be a company one rather than just one person not doing their job.

I would go as far to say i am dreading the 23rd coming round, incase the dishwasher doesnt arrive again !?! I really dont know what i would do... maybe its good that it will be my DH that will have to deal with it!!

• I'm back from hospital and whilst I was away a dishwasher was delivered!!

BUT:naughty:

Not to me, to my next door neighbour. This was at 10 in the morning, when a special timed delivery had been arranged for 6pm, when my husband would be at home. My neighbour has just had a baby and so was unable to help my husband move it, he managed to carry it over to over house but ripped half his hand off on the harling of the house wall on the way.. he phone Boots and the lady was very angry with the delivery company and said she was going to investigate and would call back today before 2pm...

Oh yes and just to top it all off..... NO INSTRUCTIONS!!
I dont think Boots will actually call me but I certainly will be calling them! (I do need to remember to stay calm though dont want to burst a stitch!)_pale_ _pale_ _pale_

Going to lie down and save my energy for later, I have a feeling I'm going to need it!

yes I ordered a fridge, was told would be 2 weeks b4 delivery, but to ensure I got one they would take money now, silly me.I cancelled 2 weeks or more ago, I,m so fed up I cant even be bothered to look it up now. Still no fridge no money back and no word from boots. They have largely ignored all my calls, I,m also trying to get my money back from optical express £200 as I changed my mind about laser treatment. utterly sick of zero customer services in these big companies.

• I have been amazed at the number of people who have experienced problems with Boots Kitchen Appliances since I posted on here. I have considered taking this to BBC Watchdog as I am certain there must be many more.

I went to Boots because I thought I had the assurance of dealing with a reputable company after all the advertising campaign on iv this christmas says "TRUST BOOTS" ehmmmmm,... no I dont think so!

You should bombard them with phone calls until they issue your refund..they are quick enough to take it afterall!

Good luck

• Well still no instructions but I manged to download a manual online. Spoke with a manager at Boots on Tuesday afternoon and they have offered me £100 compensation. I was shocked at it being so much but I am happy to settle it at that.

I know I will never buy from them again and simply can't recommend them to anyone..

Good luck to anyone still waiting for their appliance or money back.

Thanks to everyone who offered advice and support, it really helped me to know that i could vent and someone was listening!!
