in Credit cards
Hi
DH and I have recently paid off the balance of £1500 on our Santander card. He did loads of overtime at Christmas and we did the wise thing and cleared off a CC.
Since then we have received around 2-3 phonecalls per week from Santander. They ask for my husband each time and he's often not in as they call in the daytime. I have got so fed up with them phoning that I now say 'just a second' and then leave the phone on the side until they get bored. We do not owe them any money, and anything serious would surely be done by letter so I am assuming that they now want to sell him some other product. As they keep asking for him can I tell them we aren't interested in anything else and ask them to take us off the sales list? Or would it need to be my husband? By the way I was a joint cardholder on the account.
Thanks for any advice

Are you sure there isn't trailing interest due? Have you actually checked a recent statement?0

Hi,
The card was on 0% and we had a statement last week which said the balance was £0.00Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0 -
You're probably right to think it's sales. But in the long run, probably best for him to listen to the first 30 seconds of what they have to say just to be sure, and then tell them not to call again.
The site is littered with stories of "I used to bin all the letters/calls I got from my bank until the day they took my house away for unpaid bills." So better than safe than sub-prime, as they say.0 -
Thanks, can I tell them to write to him instead? He's never at home when they call - if it's about something important then they would be willing to do that wouldn't they?Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0

I would ask them if there is an issue with the account. I think they will be obliged to tell you that. In which case, say that he will call them - they should then give you specific number/contact etc if it's important.
If they don't want him to call in (because it's an outbound team doing the calling), you can assume it's sales.
Ask them to flag you as non-promotable by phone - they may or may not take the request from you.
And tell them you are the addiitonal cardholder - some banks do talk to additionals, some don't.0 -
get your husband to write in, any action from your say so would go against dpa0
