in Credit cards
Hello
I am having a bit of a hard time with credit cards.. I'm 19 years old
and i am going away to Thailand in a month.. i want to bring a credit card with me so if i run out of money (which is likely) i can go overdraft and pay back the money when i get back home.
So basically im looking for a credit card which will allow me to go around £300 overdrawn and which doesn't have an insane interest rate, and doesn't charge me lots of money to withdraw money abroad.
I currently have a visa debit card with Lloyds TSB.
I've gone overdrawn on that a couple times in the last three months but only by like £1 and i have put money in within a day after going overdrawn.
So all i want is a quick £300 or so out of the card and i will repay it within a month or two.
Will i get a credit card? if so which is best for me?
Thank you in advance to any kind soul who takes some time to reply!!

Your past credit history?

what do you mean by saying 'overdrawn' on a credit card... do you simply mean that you will run up debt up to the 'credit limit'?
debit cards can't be overdrawn either... your current a/c can be overdrawn but the card as such can't be
do you have an authorised overdraft limit with your current account?
what's your salary?
basically try your bank as they will know how well you run your current a/c0 -
Your easiest option is probably to be added as a secondary cardholder on a relative's account, assuming that they trust you not to run up a huge debt. Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

When you say £1 overdrawn did you have an overdraft? If not it is unlikely you will get accepted for a credit card given how you conduct your current account. It's not the amount that matters or how quick you get yourself back in credit but how often it happens and if you cannot handle your own money the bank will think you will be unable to handle credit. It can be damaging for your credit file too. Don't Lloyd offer a mobile text messaging service for when you are near going overdrawn?0
