Ordinarily I would opt for the one with perfect bodywork, as it's a better sign that it's been well looked after. But as an MSE, I still want to work on the price!!

The first one doesn't entice me from the description....... part service history - says, not the best past owner as they've missed services. One key - why? There's then a cost to getting a spare and sometimes they are not cheap. Ropey bodywork - again, not well looked after.

However the second one is an auto. My partner had an automatic Clio and it was very poor on fuel with it being and auto, so be aware there's an increased running cost with automatics. It also blew ignition coils for fun. We replaced all 4 and two of them twice in 18 months (that was about £30 per coil doing it myself!). I got fed up and sold it as it appeared a common fault on them.

Why does it have to be one of these two Clio's? There must be more Clio's about to consider?

Neither, the 1st is a nail, unloved etc the £550 saving will be soon eaten up fixing it. The 2nd, don't buy an auto, unless you really want one because you do a lot of city driving. Plenty of others around. Don't forget the bonnet problem:-

They've gone from a Ka to a Clio...it's still a step up of sorts!?

Don't buy a Clio, but please get rid of the Ka!
