Santander Charges

I've had £175 of charges which have gone out today and left me £150 overdrawn with no limit.
The problem is that my tax credits of £130 goes in tomorrow. This money is for food shopping,, nappies etc and is just going to be swallowed up by the charges. Is there anyway I can ask the bank to take the charges in instalments?

Why not ask them? They can only say no.

Personally I wouldn't expect much success; the usual form of help would be to perhaps provide/extend an overdraft facility.
However, since the reason you want this is to pay charges that presumably occurred due to you busting your limit in the past, they may well be reluctant to do this too at present, until you can show improved financial control, sorry.

  • Yes they should be able to set up a payment plan with a temporary overdraft, just speak to the collections and recoveries team
