HI all
Not sure if this is the right place to post.
My mom gets Direct Payment for carers to look after her. She currently has an agency but over christmas and the new year they have let her down, so I stepped in. My mom now wants to pay me for this, but i wanted to know how we go about paying the tax.
Can i work out how much i should pay and send it to HMRC? are there forms to fill out if i am doing this as a one off? Does my mom have to fill out forms or declare it to someone???????????
Advice please,

To me it sounds like you are being very honest and all that but if you are just helping your mum out a few times while she sorts out the carers the declaring it to the tax man is a little OTT.
Maybe it is your birthday soon and she is giving you gift for being such a special daughter.
PS I know nothing about Direct Payments and what or how you spend them or carers allowance etc.
But if I do a bit of DIY for my parents and they give me a gift around the same time the tax man does not need to know.0
