Second card holder

Hi,

I was the second card holder on my mums capital one account. I forgot I was even on it and had never even activated the card. My mum passed away and I called up about my own separate account with capital one to change address, and realised that I was a second card holder.

Am I liable for her debt as a second card holder since she has passed away?

Hopefully someone can help...I'm getting very worried

Comments

  • Nothing to worry about. If you were an additional cardholder and did not take out the original agreement, you have no responsibility for the debt. It will ultimately be paid from the estate.

I'm sure you have other things to worry about at present, so forget about this one.
