One tub of sudocrem will last years, so I hope you haven't bought too much...
I've bought 2 of the smallish tubs from home bargain
1 lot of gripe water
cotton wool balls
and loads of the wipes that have been on offer at boots.
1st baby in the family for 27 years, so i'm a bit old hand now, but 1st time a grandma.
thanks for those replies0 -

Oh how exciting for you! Congratulations grandma:D
My mum used to make up boxes for weddings (when people didn't live together first) and babies, made up of the sort of things you have mentioned (cleaning products etc for weddings). They can be so expensive to but all at once but a lovely gift, I think.0 -

Gripe water worked for my first, something else for my second and infacol for my third. Same with sudocreme for my first, bepanthen for my second and metanium for my third.
Only thing all 3 used were ashton and parson powders.
That was a pointless post but it's late, I'm tired and rambling.
Anyway, folks have already said you won't get run of the mill stuff on prescription, so it will be usefull.
We have the minor ailments scheme, good for paracetamol, ibuprofen etc. I did get DD some medicated bum cream after her medication gave her bleeding nappy rash.
Never used cotton balls outside of SCBU.
Small 'sicky' towels are awesome. That is a small soft towel for burping, for putting under their head so you don't have to change a full set of bedding and for wetting and using to scrub off the sticky bits of poo.... Glamourous!0 -
Don't worry about having too much sudocream!! It lasts forever and is always useful. I get dry skin on my upper lip every winter (starts with a tingle then dries and peels) and whenever I go home my Mum tries to slap it all over my face! Bit annoying at 21 but it doe really work! It's also good for general dry patches like elbows and the little bit of almost eczema I get where my watch rubs. You can never have too much0

I've used the minor ailment service in our chemist for infacol, sudocrem, paracetamol & bonjela. Couldnt get gripe water or parsons powder as there not on the list so just bought these.:cool:0

You can get prescriptions for Calpol and Neurofen as I have done this for DS as most nurseries will only accept prescribed medications inc calpol :mad:0
