Laptop died hard drive to copy

Hi can anyone help.

Laptop has died and I need to get some files off it. Someone said you can buy a laptop hard drive caddy and useas a portable hard drive. Is this possible? Any ideas where I can find one on line. I tried PC Worldbut can't see anything. But I may be calling it the wrong thing!

Thanks, if I take the hard drive from the laptop I guess one of the wires just connect straight to this item? Laptop is unfortunatly dead and won't power up.

Yes, but there are some instructions in a link on that Ebay page.
There are two types of drive IDE (PATA) or SATA, and it depends which you have as to how to connect it all up, but that set supports both.

yes there are caddys for this, just search eBay for "laptop HDD to pc" (without the quotes) and you will find lots.
