Estate Agent - charge for photos?

Hello
Is it normal for EA's to charge for taking photos of the property? My parents are looking into putting their house on the market & the EA wants to charge them £25 for bog-standard photos or £60 for "enhanced" photos (wide angle lens kind of thing!). I've not had any house selling experience (was 1st time buyer) and i don't want my parents being ripped off
I know it's not a lot of money in the grad scheme of house buying but ........
Any advice? Thanks

cheeky gits! I have no idea if its normal, but i'd use someone else out of principle!0

So would I!
Even in the bad old days before t'internet agents took photos. It's a standard cost which should be coming out of their hugely inflated fees.
Tell your parents that they should tell the agent that they'll pay for the photos if the agents agree to reduce their fee by one percent0 -
Seems a bit cheeky to me, I'd take my own photos if the EA wanted to charge me.0

Thank you for the replies - i thought it was a bit out of order! Will let them know.0

what next? lying or inventing offers..It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
Tell them to roll up the £25 and stick it where the sun doesn't shine. And find a decent EA who isn't so hard up.Everyone is entitled to my opinion!0

Tell them to bug*er off. No decent EA will charge for photos.,......in fact, even the bad ones i know of include them in their fee!!£2 Savers Club #156!
Looking for holiday ideas for 2016. Currently, Isle of Skye in March, Riga in May, Crete in June and Lake District in October. August cruise cancelled, but Baby due September 2016! :j0 -
Even if the EA removes this charge when you contest it I wouldn't use them. If they do this, what else do they have up their sleeve?
Find an agent who is prepared to offer a decent service at an inclusive cost.0 -
There are some agencies I wouldn't touch with a bargepole because every time a property they are selling turns up on Rightmove, the pictures are awful. So check that the agency isn't regularly uploading properties online which are littered with blurred photos...it could be that's what happens if you refuse to pay for the privilege!0

I've forwarded your info to my parents. Thankfully they took my advice they spoke to a couple of other EA's earlier today & none of them charge for photos.0
