I have been contacted by phone form yell.com saying that my free listing in yellow pages is ending and I have to pay about £80+vat for this listing. Has anyone else been contacted by yell, I can not find anything on the net about having to pay now for what was a free listing. I was wondering if this is a scam...I am in the Aberdeen area.

Standard Business Listings get your basic business contact details listed on Yell.com, in Yellow Pages and on 118 24 7, and are free."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Classic sales techniques. Tell them to !!!!!! off. Yell.com is terrible. You're better off getting a decent website made.Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0

Had the Yell rep in this week.
I find Yell the worst value directory round here.
He did tell me that the free one line listings (in the main directory bit ) will be removed.
There is a seperate a-z listing section at the back for all the entries, but the classified section will be ONLY for people who pay
The guy told me it was still good value even though to place the same ad in this year the cost has risen by 33%- it has gone up by 500% in 6 years
I am cutting down my Yellow pages prescence as I am now getting a lot of word of mouthbaldly going on...0
