UKPC using Debt Recovery Agency

Hi all,
Could anyone please offer some advice and re-assurance for a UKPC situation.
The car recieved a UKPC charge on the windscreen a while ago, and as advised in various other posts on this website we have promptly ignored the charge.
They have now passed this to a debt collection agency "Parking Collection Services Limited" and sent a "Final Reminder" and as a result the wife is getting nervious as the car is in her name. This is the 1st letter from them.
She was not driving at the time, and I have told her that as she was not driving she is not liable and under no obligation to tell them who was. However this does not seem to help much and is worried it will go against her credit score/points etc.
Other websites are advising people to write to the debt collection agency saying that they were not the driver and are not liable.
Any comments would be gratefully appreciated.

Firstly - continue to ignore EVERYTHING from both UKPC and their agents.
It CAN'T go against her - she didn't enter into the contract. The contract is unenforceable and UKPC won't go to court. IF, and that's an enormous IF, they go to court ( and you have more of a chance of winning the lottery three times in a row ) there is more than enough advise to on here and elsewhere to get the case thrown out and besides she wasn't driving so it would fall at the first hurdle !
Finally, your wife can't have her credit record affected unless a) UKPC take court action which they won't ( see above ) b) they win AND c) you don't pay. So you'll need a,b and c to happen AND a miracle.
Continue to ignore !!!!!!!!!!!!All aboard the Gus Bus !0 -
It is true the 'dispute', let's call it that because there's no debt, is with the driver.
Because this is a civil matter, you are under no obligation to disclose who the driver is, certainly not at this stage.
So some people advise you write to the debt collector to say "Yes, I am the registered keeper, but no, I was not the driver'.
This, the theory goes, leaves them nowhere to go.
In practice, it seems such a letter is regarded by them as a 'bite', they assume the driver is the keeper's partner, and bother the keeper all the more knowing the threats are probably reaching their target.
Best bet is not to reply at all.
I have taken this route and successfully ignored two tickets, but you will get some quite convincing threatening letters.
Your wife already seems quite close to cracking, so you can see these bully boy tactics do work.0 -

But all those letters are already well-known, this is nothing new.
Here's one:

The UKPC letter-chain including PCS letters are shown in pictures on our top sticky thread, has been there for months Just see my signature, click on the mentioned link above at the top of the page. Read the stickies by Crabman, I hope you haven't also missed the Watchdog clip & all the other info we have here? There is so much info in our sticky guidance that you should both be laughing at UKPC by now!
You don't need to worry. Show your wife the watchdog clip and show her the letter-chain pics. Nothing else happens - except a few people get a phone call or six (easily knocked on the head if it happens, also covered in our threads).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

They use the credit reference marker as a scare tactic that really worries people. That's the point of it! However since you have never had a credit contract/agreement with them they can not mark your wife's CRF!
Its simply another form of intimidation, which should be taken more seriously by the authority's. Its an untrue statement with the sole intention of threatening someone to pay an unproven debt. I think even the word debt should not be allowed. Even when the Police nick you it is an alleged offence till a court say you is guilty. These turds can use the word "debt" willy nilly!0
