We have "squirrelgate" too

My husband likes to feed the birds but the squirrels always get there first. He's not too bothered about this but then the little blighters plant them in his lovely lawn - this really stresses him out.

He's now got a squirrel proof bird feeder but now the squirrels are planting our neighbours bird food in our lawn. I think they are laughing at him as he jumps up and down in the window.

It's amazing how much the blasted squirrels can stress you out!!

I could just about deal with them digging up my bulbs until I started using the plastic fork method, but what really bugged me was the fact that I used to buy really expensive, rare and unusual bulbs, lovingly plant them, and then a few months later see them growing in my neighbour's garden where Mr Squirrel had transplanted them!!

You can hardly say to the neighbour "Excuse me, those are my bulbs!" Well I couldn't anyway.

Sorry but I had to laugh at some of your posts! I won't be laughing next month though when our caravan site opens up again. As last year, it will be all out war between my OH and the squirrels! We love to feed all the birds there with seeds, nuts and fat balls - if the squirrels don't get them first!!! OH came up with all sorts of devious plans to thwart the squirrels but they always won in the end!
