Possibly a stupid question

I have my first male cat, after having two females before.
He has been neutured, but I was just wondering if he came across a female cat in season, would he still be interested or does the neuturing take away the desire as well as the ability?

I think it makes them 'not interested';)
Cat=astophic me thinks.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Sometimes they still have the urge and can try to mate but it will be unsuccessful a) as no testicles and b) when they get castrated, as the testosterone levels drop, the spikes fall off the penis so they cannot stimulate the female to ovulate.0

Spikes?! Poor lady cats! I really don't know if I want to look that up on Google or not.0

If they got old enough to know what to do, they can still do it. If not, they look rather silly, trying to do it but missing. The female in season gets extremely cross with them.
Sometimes breeders keep neutered males so they can alert everyone that the breeding queen is getting ready for a season.0 -

That's interesting!
The reason I asked was because a kitten came into our garden yesterday, we don't know if it was male or female (I didn't see it). Jimmy, our new cat, being the brave soul that he is, ran into his kennel and hid from it!
One of our neighbour's cats used to come in our house, and he would do his clawing thing on me and then get a little, er, excited! Thankfully Jimmy has shown no signs of that.0
