Notice required for consultation

in Redundancy & redundancy planning
I was called by phone by my employer on friday and advised that I was at risk of being made redundant. No other employee has been put a risk. A meeting is arranged for Wednesday. Is this sufficient notice?

    Yes.

    Some recommend giving first notice on a friday as it give the weekend for it to sink in you then have 2 working days to gather information and get someone to lined up to acompany you for the first consultation meeting where the company can make its case.

    The meeting should be at least 30 days before the redundancy decision, notice for the meeting itself isn't specified as far as I am aware.

    Consultation can be very short there is no requirement for 30 days when less than 20 involved.
