Terribly rude service in Halifax - withdrawing money
Comments
-
Asking questions can also be in the customer's interests. Where I work, we once had an elderly lady come in and ask to withdraw an unusually large amount of money. The diligent cashier asked her what it was for, and the lady said a nice man had come and offered to clean her roof and she was getting a few thousand out to pay him.
The cashier stopped the transaction and went outside and got the number plate of the guy who had conveniently offered to drive the old dear to the bank to get the cash.
There's no excuse for rudeness, and in most cases, cashiers will have an eye on commission when asking questions about people's transaction habits, but please don't always assume the worst.0 -
Wonder what she would have done if you said I'm using the money to pay cash to a tradesman to avoid VAT?0
