Are these as reliable as an ear thermonitor?
and how long does it take to get a reading?0 -
It gives a reading in seconds and plays alittle tune when its done reading then tells you vocally what the temperature is . It recomends you do 3 readings to get an average temp but so far if I've done 3 they are all the same .0

Firstly, Lloyds stuff is a bit pony which is why everything is constantly reduced, they seem to have a massive ugly massager for £7.99 at the moment. Ear thermometers are significantly more reliable than mouth or armpit thermometers because it takes temperature from the tympanic membrane which is the most accurate place to take a temperature.
DO NOT buy forehead thermometers from Lloyds or anywhere generally, they are complete junk and completely inaccurate.0 -
Digital Thermoeters are available in my local Poundland, don't know how good they are but for £1 they are worth a try. I got one free from Calpol a while ago so not got the one from Poundland.2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please!

As long as it has a CE mark there's no reason why the cheaper ones are not as good as the more expensive ones unless you reallly need the extra gimmicks used to justify extortionate prices.
Here's one also available for £1.99 at :

dont know your source on this, but forehead (TA/ temporal artery) thermometers are viewed as the best in field as non invasive, and also accuracy is linked to deep rectal monitoring, which is not normally suitable for everyday use. Search google, and you will quickly see the popularity of TA thermomitors in professional use. They are accurate0
