Barclaycard Premier Football Card changing APR

Options
Had a letter from Barclaycard notifying me that they are changing my rate from 13.9 to 17.9. Only a small balance of £450 on card (this is the most its ever had on it) and limit is 5k, had the card for years just seems strange to increase the rate just like that. In their defense did say if I did not want to accept new rate just notify them and balance would stay on current rate (13.9) until paid off but the account / card would be considered 'closed'.

My virgin card is offering me a 0% BT till Dec 11 (no balance on this card at all) so I have moved it across.

Just wondered has anyone else just received a letter 'out the blue' advising of a rate change on a card?

Regards,

Andy

Most people get them, very very common.

    17.9% is a good rate.

Mate for starters can't see you really noticing a 3% increase of a £450 balance, I would not reject the rate if your hovering around that sort of balance .

Yes lately thousand of credit card customers are getting credit card interest hikes.
