I have no bank statements or bills, everything is online. If I need to have it for a certain period, I am either able to check it online or call bank to send me that particular page. Bills are the same, the only paper one I receive is yearly the council tax and water. Rest is online.
  • For tax purposes HMRC give advice on how long to retain records (scroll down to the bottom for the info).

If you are going to apply for a mortgage I would also keep some of the bank statements as these are usually required. You can usually get copies from your bank, but many of them charge for this service.
