Hi there,
I have had this problem with my computer now for over 2 years or more, and because I can't find an answer I have learned to live with it, but it would be nice to pin it down as to what the problem is. The computer is a mesh 700gdr over 6 years old running win xp pro with a 700 athlon 640 mb ram, fitted with a ga-71xe motherboard. Within xp considering processor size, windows runs fine. Motherbaord won't take any greater than 1ghz processor so no point in putting any bigger than that.
The post screens (text) before windows boots up takes a long time to load, ie sometimes at checking nvram, and then usually just beofre searching for the boot record, it can take up to a few mins sometimes before windows actually starts to load which it does usually no problem.
I have reinstalled windows many times, have checked and switched the memory sticks inside. I have also gone into the bios and enables quick boot, and also to get boot record from hard disk 0. The only thing that I can possibly think it might be is I have about 3 usb hubs all interconnected to each other (with 4 usb ports in each) and connected to the one usb port on computer, ie they are dependant on this port for their power, which do seem to light up at computer startup.
Eventually my computer loads up after a few mins ..so I can live with this problem but suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks
Joe
