"Who does that?" most people with online capacity I should think, I certainly do except when on holiday.
I would be amazed if "most people" with on-line access checked their account every day. I might go online to my CC account once a month.

I don't even think I would check every day after the first few days if I was the victim of fraud.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

Don't know why people are getting offended. If I have offended you I apologise, that was not my intent.

having had a CapOne card years ago for a balance transfer deal, im not fairly new to CapOne again, with the World card.
im finding their CS and online access to be really good, and racking up the cashback

"between 200 and 300 pounds over the course of a few weeks. When I saw the issue online again they initially didn't treat it at fraud and expected me to go to a Tesco store that I'd never even heard of before to sort it out"

a lot of card providers start the process by trying to put the onus on the cardholder to sort out the problem. don't accept it, just push it right back to them. i have a challenge with Barclaycard at the moment, and i just keep insisting "it's not my purchase, refund my money".

Yeah, that's what I've always done push back, immediately

The sad thing is that people who don't know the rules will be duped by the credit card companies. There should be some sort of rules/framework to prevent them trying to shift the liability.

The Capital One cashback was great, however I've now found a better option.

Capital One gives you 1% cashback across the board and I've always thought that was the best. I know the Amex has 5% for the first few months, but it's less well accepted and is temporary.

However there's now a new kid on the block. Halifax Clarity card gives you £5 cashback each month if you spend £300 or more. So my tactic (once the new card arrives) will now be to spend the first £300 each month on the Halifax Clarity card (==1.67% cashback) and the rest on Capital One. It does mean I have to keep track of things a little, but it's not very much effort as I'm always filling in my spending into my online accounts anyway...

Don,t you need to be a Halifax customer for this?

you do, but I also have their current account which pays me £5 a month for transferring £1000 to it every month, and I'm free to move it back after it's sat there for 1 day.

It's a hassle to have too many open accounts imho, but this one pays me £60 a year so it's worth it, and the transfers I have setup as standing orders.

I read on a forum somewhere of one guy having three of these current accounts and transferring between them over the course of three days to qualify for £15 a month... that was also permissible at the time, but seemed a bit over the top for me personally to do.
