Tax Rate changes and Child Benefit

  • Does anyone know whether in a one income family the at home parent would still get NI credits if they no longer qualified for child benefit?
    Thanks
  • AS I understand it, in 2013 the Child Benefit is still paid to whoever claims it, usually the mother or non working parent, and clawed back through income tax if the highest earner is in higher tax bracket, so the at home parent would still get the payment and still get the NI credits.
That seems to be the theory, but it's a couple of years away so there's time for it to change.
