My moped, again...

*sigh* I really am jinxed! After my embarrassment at not being able to kickstart my moped, I finally managed to get it running. However the battery has failed to recharge. I also took it out and charged it overnight, but it just won't hold the charge.
I emailed the dealer I bought it from who advised me that :cool:these small batteries can lose the ability to hold charge quite quickly if they are not used often, especially in the cold weather. So I need to get a new one.
Does anyone know, please, what it is I need to get (ie exactly what battery) for a Jinlun DB50QT-5? Also is there a particular company that are good to buy from?
I really appreciate any help, so a big thanks in advance.

Located the battery, and have a look for the Part Number on the battery. The internet says it should be a YTX 5 LBS
I have found one here for £26 delivered new, though contact your local independant bike shop/place for a price as they wont be much more. Maybe some non-main dealers will hold these in stock as they are so low cost.

I always found that during the winter period, i would always use the bike with the headlamps on, this would always flatten the battery as the charging circuit wasnt that good on the japenese grey import bike that i had. The bike would never have time to charge the battery.
I could recommend a optium charger to fit to the bike, but for the price of these you could purchase 2 more new batteries, so not really worth it for you.0 -

Many, many thanks. Unfortunately I don't have a local bike shop, and travelling to one would cost silly money (IOW has obscenely expensive public transport - hence me deciding to buy the moped;)) so I will order online. I have been advised now to remove the battery and put it on charge if I am not going to be using it for a while.0
