Renting washing machine after IVA

Hi,

I completed my IVA about 2 years ago. At the moment my credit file is of course still in ruins and I get rejected for every possible credit check. However, my washing machine has broken and I don't have the money to buy one upfront.

Does anyone know of a place who will rent appliances like this to people with not so good credit?

Thank you

Can you not buy a secondhand one off ebay? Look in the local Fri-Ad too as most people would rather sell a good one for £10 than go to the hassle in taking it to the tip! I know I would.

PS, stop apply for credit as the more credit checks are done, the worse your file will look.

Just looked on the Bay, and theres loads of them for sale all over the place!

    Good luck

  • Our IP told us that should things like the washer breaking happen, ring them and they will allow you to miss/reduce a payment to buy one and then the missed payment will go on the end of the IVA.

    Give them a ring.

Were you in a one off IVA or did it last five years?

Your credit file dates back for six years... if you had been in a five year IVA your credit file should be returned to normal with all black marks having dropped off the bottom by now!
