Spoon, i am intrigued at your naughtiness, have you been buying anything interesting??????? :D

Hmmmm... a couple of mega-spendy days BDINI:o:o. I've realised this week that, if I keep going the way I am currently, I'm going to be debt-free in four months, so have been "celebrating". The usual grocery shop and CC payments but intermingled with a bit of online shopping (clothes mainly). That's it now, though, back on the programme again:D:D
Spend for me today, but i think my most restrained grocery shop ever... 1 loaf of bread, 1 bag of onions, 1 bottle of r1bena (better than half price :j the only time i buy it even though i love it) & a pack of iced buns for a weekend treat. I didn't need anything else so i didn't buy it, i am an :A

Love the shopping list:T:T. You certainly are an :A
Weird day at work today though, had a phone call from the area manager, asking me how much money she could offer me not to leave  (not that i'll be able to hand my notice in till all my checks are back)
Was almost tempted to quote a ridiculous figure just to see if i was worth it :rotfl: but decided to be honest & had a good long chat about my horrible incident last week & she says she totally understands why i have to go (although she did keep mentioning that i still had time to change my mind!)
It's the first time i have felt anything but relief that i'm going, but i've actually felt quite sad about it today, feel a bit odd, but i reckon the cup of medicinal tea & yummy iced bun have sorted me out (easily pleased eh :D)

Wow... I hope that's boosted your morale, BDINI, they clearly want to keep you:j:j. What a lovely position to be in:T:T

    Good morning folks!

Just catching up with that chat. Had a lovely lunch with my chum yesterday, had a right good old catch up. We havent seen each other since November so there was a lot to get through! I had a lovely surprise too when she gave me a present - it was John Barrowman's in Concert DVD. We dont do Christmas presents, but she said when she saw it it had my name on it! Only your pals know your guilty pleasures LOL! I can see an afternoon with medicinal tea, leftover Quality Street and JB coming to a sofa in Edinburgh inthe very near future!;)

Beanie - I think I know what shop you've been in buying those Cherry Lips - funny you were in Edinburgh yesterday, my friend I was meeting is fae Fife too!
PS I love old-style sweeties too - Rhubarb and Custards and Dolly Mixtures are my faves!

BDINI - how interesting re your work! Why does it take a "small thing" like handing your notice in for employers to realise how invaluable you are? Like you, I would be tempted to ask for some outrageous amount just to see what the response would be;) However, I think when the reason for leaving is not money orientated then no amount they offer would make it worthwhile if you are unhappy. Glad you resortedto musing with to the tried and tested remedy of bun and cuppa - never lets you down that one!:rotfl:

SPOON - that's wonderful that your DF date is in sight. You deserve a bit celebrating. I hope you enjoy your new threads!

SF- thanks for the kind wishes - right back at ya, gal! Hope you're doing ok!

Gosh, I 've been havering on a bit this morning. Not sure if today will be a spendy or not, have a notion to go and look for a carpet for my stairs, not sure yet.

Anyway. whatever you're all up to.........

    Have a lovely day everyone:)

    That's FAB news

Just don't "celebrate" too much until then though, otherwise the date will move further away :o

Visitor due over sometime today (hopefully around lunch time), and when I asked him last night what he fancied for tea he said bread and jam would be fine :rotfl:

Told him I have loads of meals in the freezer and the makings of a lot more in the house, to which he said he'll have a look through everything when he gets here :D

(He did initially suggest steak, chips and salad - and when I said that steak is always with chips, grilled toms, mushrooms, peas and sweetcorn he rushed to say he was only joking...... which I knew from the tone of voice he was :) But I do have a fair sized piece of Whoopsied steak in the freezer - so I'm debating pulling that and doing a mixed grill, as it'll be plenty for both of us when supplemented with sausages and bacon ;))

WHEW got to the end, I've been on here for 75 mins - that's how long it's taken me to read through. My eyes are now glazed over and I'm typing gibberish almost as well as I speak it.
Well I got off to a good start on my first ever month - yesterday was NSD #1! Hoping to repeat it today, but will have to persuade friend to buy my usual after-hobby can of diet coke tonight to do so! :o

    JCG x

Wonder if there's another recruit for the giving up diet coke challange???

No1. Where's the Stop Necking Fizzy Plop Challenge? I meant to call in to cheer you all on last month & got side-tracked..how's it going?

It's a bit quiet on the giving up diet coke challange BigMummaF - can you drag a few more people over?

No3. That chap who plays Alf in Home & Away is in Priscilla, although not in drag. Sometimes I wish lived closer to a big town as I'd love to see The Jersey Boys in particular, plus have access to proper museums instead of Mr Ernest Hipplethwaite's collection of 14 cups from local bus station tea-rooms circa 1972 :( Still, I can take comfort in saving on the entrance fees I suppose :o

    :rotfl::rotfl: Love it:rotfl::rotfl:

This week I'm so darn tired, my life is so busy at the mo that I've been out 4 out of 5 work nights this week - just getting home and unable to face the laptop after spending so long in front of one at work. sigh roll on half term. I do, however, need to not spend so long in front of the laptop. So would you lot please refrain from posting 4 to 5 pages of posts every day. Thank you kindly :rotfl::rotfl:

When I'm this tired I find I eat too much and get grumpy but I'm really trying not to. I've put on 5lb and can't afford to let my nice new Next coat get too tight.

Ok, let me think about this week. Thursday was a NSD so no 2 for me, yesterday wasn't as I intended to do my shopping after work but was too tired to do it. so stuck on no 2. Today won't be as I need to do my shopping, will put aside the fruit money today so that I can get it tomorrow. I'm not going to spend £2 to park for one hour at the market today when I can park for free tomorrow.

Have a good one all, will try to pop back to keep up later.

Still loads of bits to sort out, including about 3 hours of school work, should be more but I've decided to limit myself this week.
  • Managed NSD No. 2 yesterday.

Don't know if today will be as I'm going up town later, but I'll try to control myself. I've got £30 worth of vouchers from Christmas, so they don't count do they? :p

What a great friend Jinty, sounds like the perfect staying in & avoiding the gales afternoon!!

Oh the bun & cuppa worked wonders Jinty, you are so right, i spend far too much of my life at work to be miserable every day, so i will be leaving, but now my perspective is back, as Spoon said it was very good for my ego to be asked!!

Off on a wallpaper hunt today for the bathroom, won't count as a spend, but really need to find a cheaper version of the pattern i have fallen in love with, as the one i like is £17 a roll  When did paper get so expensive?????? Also have to pick up some candlesticks for my mum, but i've had a tenner stashed in my purse for these since christmas, so that won't count either. I promise not to spend a penny extra, but will declare later, just to stop me cheating!!

Hi all. Sorry I'm a bit late, but is is still alright if I join for this month?

With 7 of us at home, plus a dog and numerous fish, I don't get too many opportunities for a NSD, as I have to buy bread and milk most days, but I think with a bit of effort I should be able to achieve 7 NSDs for the month.
Debt free since December 2015. It can be done
