Made it! NSD no.19 and a record breaking attempt for me achieved!

Decided to delay getting the car tax until tomorrow and stay out of the shops. Will have to get it tomorrow but hey lets see how I get on for March. This month's challenge has really made me think about spending days and to organise days when I spend better and set a budget for those days too.

Big thanks to everyone on the thread this month for all the supportive comments and for all those who post advice daily and to Spoon for totting up daily

See you on the March thread!

Evening all. Well I [STRIKE]f[/STRIKE] missed my target this month for the first time since I started this challenge  Today would have been my target but....

OH asked me to get a card for our niece who is 1 today (errr, yes, card is gonna be a bit late) and my mum called last night to tell me JS has a big bedding sale on. So, I pilfered OH change to get said card, looked in m&s but there wasn't a great deal there, then went on to JS. Saw a card in there for £1.79...so far so good, then looked at the bedding. The sheets were all over the place but I found one double fitted, and a pack with the same sheet and two pillowcases but no SEL. I went to Customer Servcies for a price check and turns out the sheet on its own was £5 (down from £10) but the pack with the pillow cases was £3.90 down from £13. Both were soft feel cotton mix so no cheap 'tat' So, I got the sheet and pillow cases. While I was there I also picked up 4pts of 1% milk for £1 (on offer too). Total £6.69.

I will take the JL sheet back, saving me £8.10

Sadly I thought I had 52p on a Mastercard gift card, but for the umpteenth time it wouldn't scan (half the shops I tried to use it in didn't even know what to do with it!) and then when I checked the balance online, it had expired  That meant that even discouting the sheet, I didn't have enough change to cover the card and milk without dipping into my own pennies :(:( I did think about no counting the milk as we will use it, it was on offer and I didn't buy anything for the sake of it, but if I start bending my rules for one thing I can see excuses being made for other things.

So....fingers crossed for a better show next month....
