Is Vehicle Leasing a Good Idea?

Our current 4x4 is getting quite expensive to run in the current economical climate so we are thinking of selling it and getting a smaller version. Our current car is 6 years old and has the average mileage for it's age and is in excellent condition. We've already had a good offer for it but I'm reluctant to put this all down on a new car. I'd rather release the equity and stick it in the bank.

We do need a 4x4 due to rural location and lifestyle and knowing what we need to tow we have chosen a vehicle.

I'm wondering if vehicle leasing is the way forward?

If anyone has any experience or Do's and Don'ts they could offer it would be very much appreciate.

If you're one of those people who like to get a new car every few years it makes some sense.
