Having a new Estate Agent round tomorrow for a valuation with a view to selling our house.
Our female dog's wee has totally wrecked the grass in the garden though, it's full of burnt patches and pretty muddy too.
Anyone got any ideas how to make it look a bit better, apart from praying for a blizzard so it looks as good as everyone else's?:):)

Cut it short might help as will green dye! Or else buy some turf
I have a female dog and there is not a lot you can do apart from pore water on the pee when she finishes.0

Not sure how big a bit of grass it is but have you considered fake grass?? We have dogs and did our whole garden in it. Wasn't cheap but so worth it and people don't know it's fake. Could be a real selling point.0

A tatty lawn would not put me off, after all it grows back PDQ. Just see if the EA can get pics without too much grass showing.0

Agree, no lawn is going to look great this time of year and it quickly recovers in the spring. I wouldn't be worried about the pee patches burning the grass, but about how tidy you had kept the garden in general. Dog mess not being picked up would be more of a problem for me, as disgusting for others to come to, especially if children are going to be playing there.
I wouldn't worry about the EA coming round, but ask their advice on what would be good for viewers, after all they are the ones you want to spend money buying the place. If the EA thinks a bit of B&Q turf will make it more saleable, then do so if you want a quick move.

A lawn this time of year is going to be a bit straggley...do not worry about it unless you are selling to monty don..It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0

 Buy a time machine.
Use the time machine to go back to just before the dog arrived, whether that was when you moved in (with the dog), or when you acquired the dog.
Then; DON'T LET THE DOG RELIEVE ITSELF ON THE LAWN
Honestly, you should have been thinking about this earlier than the day before your EA arrives.....0

Nothing you can do now in a jiffy and it's to early to re-turf.
Why not turn the apparent negative into a positive and instruct the EA to state in the house details that the "property benefits from a dog friendly garden" Bound to appeal to dog owners!0

The dog mess is definitely picked up the moment it's deposited! I have the grandkids over so wouldn't leave it even an hour. Not much point in turfing as the dog wees about 10 times a day so she'd be burning the grass as fast as I could put new stuff down.Agree, no lawn is going to look great this time of year and it quickly recovers in the spring. EA says best to remove all traces of dog when viewers come round, if that's the case then they could go to my son's while the viewers are there. I did actually think of the grass problem beforehand, but as the dog wees all the time in the garden there wasn't much I could do about it.0
